HLS

HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) is an HTTP-based media streaming communications protocol and the one we use with Music API. It works by breaking the overall stream into a sequence of small HTTP-based file downloads, each download loading one short chunk of an overall potentially unbounded transport stream.

Timed metadata is used to specify the details of the streaming session, including information such as song title, song ID, album title, and artist name. Note that some standard timed metadata can be customized to convey information specific to Music API. For practical guidance on implementing HLS tags with Music API, see this tutorial.

By utilizing an HLS player, you can stream content seamlessly by providing the master.m3u8 file, which the Music API delivers when you play various resources such as stations, podcasts, or audiobooks.
